"Dan and the Magic Musician" is an initiative devised by the University of Bradford for the Royal College of Organists
Concept, script, recording and co-ordination by DR PETER COMERFORD & DR LUCY COMERFORD
Peter and Lucy Comerford were commissioned by the Royal College of Organists to devise an outreach initiative to introduce children to the organ. "Dan and the Magic Musician" is the result, thanks to the cooperation and enthusiasm of all the people named on this website.
Dr Peter Comerford is Head of the Microcomputer Music Research Unit in the Department of Computing (School of Computing, Informatics and Media) at the University of Bradford. The principal research objective of the MMRU is the application of computers and computing techniques to explore the nature of musical instrument sound and its production by synthetic means. Drs. Comerford share a particular interest in pipe organ tone. The MMRU has been responsible for the design and development of BEST (Bradford Enhanced Synthesis Technology), and is continuing research into hybrid pipe/digital organs.

Technical supervision by DR HASSAN UGAIL
Hassan Ugail supervised the animation project work undertaken by Karl Abson as part of his Master's studies.
Dr Ugail's principal research interests are in the areas of geometric design, computer based physical analysis and design optimisation that fall into the broad area of research known as Simulation Based Design. In particular, the focus of his research is on a new novel method for geometric design known as the PDE method. Dr Ugail is Head of the Visual Computing Research Group in the School of Computing, Informatics and Media at the University of Bradford.
